About the Presenter:
Dr. Claire Anderson is originally from a small town in Mississippi. She became interested in dentistry after undergoing orthognathic surgery at 17. She spent her summers during high school and college learning more about the field by cleaning surgical instruments and shadowing her oral surgeon.
She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Birmingham-Southern College and then headed west to Arizona where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. After graduation, she reported for active duty to Fort Campbell, Kentucky to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency training program. She then served as the Brigade Dental Surgeon for 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia for two years.
Dr. Anderson completed two NATO training operations with her unit in Germany during this time where she had the opportunity to complete a root canal on #24 in the back of a truck. She then completed her endodontic residency at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Dr. Anderson achieved the rank of Major and served as the Officer in Charge and chief endodontist of Allen Dental Clinic at Fort Sill in Oklahoma for three years before moving back to sunny Arizona.
