The program is built from two kinds of lecture, each followed by open discussion — so learning is a dialogue, not a broadcast.
Our keynote speakers — drawn from biology, medicine, and dentistry — deliver extended talks that integrate basic and clinical science, with the depth to change how you practice. Each 1–2 hour long essay is followed by open Q&A with the speaker.
The 18-minute "rapid-fire" speakers take the podium for concise, practical presentations — a sharp clinical problem, a technique, a five-year review — that spark discussion among peers. Short essay sessions, too, open straight into Q&A.
It is an interactive way to learn: you question the people doing the work, then keep the conversation going over coffee, lunch, and dinner.
The Academy’s council and committees meet, followed by the Annual Member Business Meeting and an evening social. Reserved for IAE Members.
