About the Presenter:
 
After receiving his BA in chemistry from Illinois Wesleyan University, Dr. John F. Hatton earned his DMD from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He pursued postgraduate training in endodontics and was awarded a certificate in endodontics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Hatton’s career as a dental educator began in 1984 at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where he served as Head, Section of Endodontics and Chair of the Department of Applied Dental Medicine. In 1993 he was appointed by Saint Louis University to develop and direct the graduate program in endodontics. The program accepted its first residents the following year with the first endodontic alumni receiving their certificate and MS in 1996.

He is currently a Professor of Endodontics at Saint Louis University where he continues to serve as Executive Director for the Center for Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University. Dr. Hatton is a Diplomate and a past Director of the American Board of Endodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. Dr. Hatton’s present research interests include pulpal neurophysiology, endodontic microbiology, endodontic materials, and radiographic imaging.
