“Class II Restorations: Tackling the Challenging Cases"
The Class II restoration is one of the most challenging restorations to perform well in operative dentistry. In endodontics, we are often presented with cases for endodontic treatment due to interproximal caries and/or an inadequate or failing Class II restoration. When faced with these situations, one primary goal is to provide a remedy for the urgent issues (e.g. pain, infection), but equally important is to provide a better long-term outcome for the patient by addressing the etiology. The placement of a direct restoration following completion of endodontic treatment can accomplish this by restoring the full function and esthetics of the dentition.
