"Go Figure: How To Pick the Right Number"
Data can be portrayed in many different manners, which makes interpretation hard and sometimes even confusing. How researchers present findings may not always correctly represent actual study results, and it is left to the reader of the scientific literature to correctly interpret the information. This presentation will highlight how numeric and graphic presentations can be used to slant research results, and provide insight into evaluating scientific trustworthiness.
Learning Objectives
1. Interpret outcomes from different research designs
2. Recognize deceptive data presentations
3. Use the literature for the benefit of patients
