“NTI as a Diagnostic Aid in Endodontics”
The incidence of parafunction in our patient population is significant- upwards of 50% depending on the patient population segment. The resulting signs and symptoms vary considerably ranging from pulpitis to myofacial pain. These signs and symptoms can cloud the endodontic diagnosis process leading to errors in judgment. An anterior discluder called an NTI can be used as a test to help decrease symptoms related to parafunction and aid in endodontic diagnosis. This lecture will be a descrip- tion of the indications and fabrications of an NTI as it relates to endodontic diagnosis.
Attendees will learn:
1. The signs and symptoms of parafunction.
2. The indications for a diagnostic NTI.
3. How to fabricate a diagnostic NTI.
