"Trauma of Trauma: A Physical and Emotional Journey"
Quick and precise handling of dentoalveolar trauma is vital in order to obtain the best possible outcome. Patient management from an emotional point of view will be discussed, as it is very important to have a cooperative patient during this lengthy journey and how it can sometimes affect outcomes.
Major Topics:
Understanding the psychological/emotional component of physical pain and the permanent scarring that some will carry and how it affects what we can accomplish in the dental office. Communication with the referring or restorative dentist requires coordination to ensure the final dental reconstruction.
