“How We Know What We Know"
This TED-type lecture will explore the nature of knowledge, how we acquire it, how we manage it, what we do with it when we have it and how reliable it is. The "Truth" can be an elusive thing. This lecture is designed to open a conversation within the audience participant on their quest for truth.
Learning Objectives:
- At the end of the lecture the participant should have a better understanding of the nature of our personal knowledge base and its usefulness to our lives and profession
- At the end of the lecture the participant should have appreciation of how biases effect the reliability of our knowledge base and where those biases come from.
- At the end of the lecture the participant should have some tools and principles to better manage the veracity of what they know.
